Nelligan O’Brien Payne’s Employment Law Group is pleased to team up with the Canadian Mental Health Association-Ottawa (CMHA – Ottawa) to bring you a multi-disciplinary Mental Health Week seminar on Supporting Employees with Mental Illness. The seminar will take place on May 7, 2015 from 7:30am to 10:00am at the Ottawa Conference & Event Centre located at 200 Coventry Road.

Many people with mental illness can work, and want to work, but are unable to enter or stay in the workforce. Their valuable skills and experience are lost to employers. This seminar will provide employers and health care practitioners with an understanding of the law, and tools to support employees with mental illness so that they can achieve meaningful work. The speakers, including our lawyers Janice Payne and Jim Anstey, are leaders in the fields of mental health services, employment law and career management and strong advocates for mental health. The seminar has been pre-approved for 2 hours of HRPA CPD. Click here for a Program Outline in PDF format.

This is a Free Seminar and there is no cost to attend. Donations for CMHA-Ottawa are welcome at the door. Please RSVP by May 1, 2015. Register early, as seating is limited. For more information or to register for this seminar, please email nelliganevent@nelligan.ca or call Lindsay Sherman at 613-231-8205.
