Lyndra Griffith is an associate lawyer with Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP, and practices in the areas of Insurance, Arts & Entertainment Law and Civil Litigation.
Lyndra completed her law degree at the University of Ottawa, and has also completed the Osgoode Certificate in Entertainment Law. She is fluently bilingual in English and French, and represents clients in both official languages.
Lyndra has a wide variety of legal experience. Before attending law school, Lyndra worked as a junior analyst for Correctional Service Canada in the area of Offender Redress, where she learned to effectively protect individuals’ rights. Throughout her legal studies Lyndra was actively involved with the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic. She was both a division leader in the criminal division and a member of the Steering Committee. She prepared and conducted pre-trial conferences, sentencing submissions, and a criminal trial.
Lyndra has appeared before the Provincial Offences Court, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. She has also worked on a complex matter before both the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
She is a member of the board for Artists’ Legal Services Ottawa and is on the advisory committee for the Ottawa Society for the Arts and Sciences.
Lyndra enjoys interacting with her clients. She is sympathetic to their needs and is focused on helping her clients obtain a fair resolution. Lyndra also enjoys the intellectual challenge of law, through both written and oral advocacy.
Lyndra is an outdoor enthusiast a self-proclaimed amateur naturalist and a photographer. When not outdoors, Lyndra also tries to find time to nurture her creative side and her love of the arts. In 2015 she was member of the cast in The Great Canadian Theatre Company’s production of “Parfumerie” for the 16th Annual Lawyer Play fundraiser. She returned in 2016 to join the cast in the comedy “The Mouse that Roared”. Although she usually leaves performing to the professionals, she has also been known to occasionally perform live background vocals for a prominent performer.
